... The Boy in a kid-sized bird nest!
It's been raining buckets here for what seems like weeks. Desperate to get out of the house, we headed over to a local nature center to play. The Boy got to watch a snake, some fish, and a salamander; make animal tracks in clay, see a fossilized mammoth skeleton, and climb up a spiral staircase to this bird nest.
You can't see it in this picture, but when you get to the top of the nest there is a huge mama bird head looking down at you, like you're about to be fed a giant worm.

It's been a weird summer so far...rainy cool weather. I know the feeling of needing to get out of the house. I am happy you were able to!
Whee...lookit that big bird. Getting big. I bet his mama feeds him a lot of yummy worms. And I somehow bet mama cooks Human style and not Bird style. Bird style is just a lliiiiiitle bit gross.
Oh how fun! He's such a cutie too :-)
