Etsy Plug

In an effort to buy fewer thing from nameless, faceless corporations, I've been doing a bit of shopping over at Etsy. If you're not familiar with it, Etsy is a sale site (similar in some ways to Feebay) for handcrafted and vintage items.

I picked up a set of reusable produce bags from Etsy last week. Since we are using reusable bags for grocery shopping, it seemed silly to cart home scads of plastic produce bags. Although they are easy to sew yourself, I am an even slower seamstress that I am a knitter. It seemed the better part of valor to just order some. They arrived the next day (!) and were immediately put into use at the farmers market. Here's a link to the store where I picked mine up. Aren't they cute? I love the little carrying case that comes with them.

The other item I've picked up from Etsy recently was a nursing necklace. The Boy has been extremely distractable lately, so a nursing necklace gives him something to focus on. Here is the shop where I got my necklace -- the artist has a lot of other pretty necklace designs, too.
